Anyone using MIG welding equipment for work and leisure purposes. Trainees should have some basic training
Course Outline
This is a 1-day course. On attending the course, delegates will be given the following training:
• Health and Safety
• Pre-use checks and risk assessments
• Machinery, equipment and controls
• A safe working area
• Daily/weekly checks
• Principles of metal inert gas welding
• Flat welds – buff & fillet – pad building
• Replacing gas cylinders and wire spools
• Limitations
• Practical demonstrations and safe use
• Summary
What should you bring to the course?
Welding helmet. Welding gloves, steel toe capped work boots, non-flammable work overalls, leather apron and goggles.
Helmet & gloves are available if required.

For individuals
All trainees should be over 17 years of age and in good health with reasonable ability for reading and recording details. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions
