Practical Hedge laying – Live Hedge laying
Who is the Course for?
Anyone interested in learning the basic skills involved in laying live hedging – also known as “Steeping” techniques.
The Course
2 days. No formal assessment – practical work throughout the course, primarily an outdoor course.
The style of hedge demonstrated on the course will vary according to the local requirements and materials available on the day.

What should you bring to the course?
Strong working gloves, Steel toe-capped work boots, overalls, waterproofs.
Tools
Bill hook, bow saw or “silky saw”, loppers. Tools can be provided or you may use your own. Please confirm when booking your place.
Note: All trainees must be over 16 years of age. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions.
