Who is the Course for?
Anyone interested in learning the basic skills involved in making a farm ‘kit’ gate and the techniques used for hanging.

The Course
1 days. No formal assessment – practical work throughout the course.

This course involves some workshop use before going out locally to erect the gatepost and hang the gate

The style of gate demonstrated on the course will vary according to the local requirements and materials available on the day.

Our instructor may be able to carry out training at your own site (subject to facilities and suitability) - please enquire

What should you bring to the course?
Strong working gloves, Steel toe-capped work boots, overalls, waterproofs.

Tools
Saws, Hammer, Spanners, etc. Spade/shovel, Pick, Iron Bar, Shove-holers, Wire strainers, Post basher. Tools can be provided or you may use your own. Please confirm when booking your place.

Note: All trainees must be over 16 years of age. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions.
