Safe Working in Agriculture and Horticulture - Lantra Level 2 Award
Who is the course for?
These Health and Safety qualifications have been specifically designed with support from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to provide people working within agriculture and horticulture with knowledge to help them protect their own Health and Safety and the Health and Safety of employees who may be affected by their activities (HSE).
Course Outline
Level 2 is designed for anyone working in agriculture and production horticulture. Mandatory Unit – Safe working in the Land Based Sector (credit value = 3)
All Lantra Awards qualifications derive from National Occupational Standards (NOS) that are developed by Sector Skills Councils in conjunction with industry. More information about NOS can be found on the individual Sector Skills Councils’ websites.
The Level 2 is awarded on the achievement of 3 credits (23 Guided Learning Hours) and all credits must come from the mandatory unit.
What should you bring to the course?
This is a classroom-based course, and is assessed by a single multiple-choice answer test.
Certificates
The new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) replaces the existing National Qualfications Framework (NQF). More information is available on the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) website www.qcda.gov.uk
For individuals
All trainees should be over 17 years of age and in good health with reasonable ability for reading and recording details. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions
