Emergency First Aid at Work
Who is the Course for?
First aiders in a workplace, where the first aid needs assessment has shown EFAW trained first aiders are needed. Generally, these would be workplaces with low-risk activities.
The Course
This is a one day classroom-based session. No formal assessment - practical testing throughout the course Practical work involves simulations of the unconscious casualty and CPR on a resuscitation manikin.
Valid for 3 years. Short day annual refresher/ basic skills update training recommended during the 3-year certification period.

What should you bring to the course?
No special equipment required. Casual clothing; ladies may prefer to wear trousers.
All trainees must be over 16 years of age. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions.

Recognition and treatment of regurgitation. Use of face shields.
Choking; Adult, child and baby
The Unconscious Patient
Blood Loss and Shock
Treatment of Bleeding and Minor Injuries
