Pesticides PA1, PA6a and PA2
Anyone using, or purchasing, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides.

The course
2 days for training (Foundation module + One other - separate assessments (usually within 4 weeks of the training)

Foundation Module (PA1 COMPULSORY): - 1 Day
Introduction & aims
Approved Code of Practice
Storage, mixing & safe use
COSHH & risk assessments
Hazard awareness
Safe disposal, record keeping

Tractor Mounted Sprayer Module (PA2 OPTION): - 1 Day
Site assessment, Risk assessment
Tractor driving recap
Protective equipment, safety procedures
Correct use of the spray equipment
Storage & transport

Knapsack Sprayer Module (PA6a OPTION): - 1 Day
Site assessment, Risk assessment
Protective equipment, safety procedures
Correct use of the spray equipment
Storage & transport

! Please note: All trainees must be over 16 years of age, in good health and with reasonable literacy & numeracy skills. Computer literacy requirements are not high and there will be assistance on hand if required – however, if you think you may require assistance with either the written or computer tests you must notify the assessment centre at the time of booking. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions

What should you bring to the course?
• Day 1 – You may find a calculator useful on Day 1

• Day 2 -Steel toe-capped workboots, loose non-snag work overalls, Unlined Nitrile gloves, protective suit, protective footwear, face shield, one passport photo and National Insurance number.

• PA6aw – Application near to watercourses
• PA6d – Minimal Calibration (no-mix)
