Pest Control – Rodent Control
(including Aluminium Phosphide)
Who is the course for? Persons wishing to undertake pest control predominantly in the land based and related industries. Lantra Awards training courses will equip you to provide a commercial pest control service. If your career ambitions are in this direction you should consider aspiring to the BPCA/RSPH Level 2 certificate in Pest Control. The courses offered by Lantra Awards cover the majority of the syllabus for this qualification.
This is a 2 day course
Course Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Identify rats and mice and the typical symptoms of damage caused
• Identify the degree and source of the infestation
• State the legislative obligations and responsibilities relevant to the control of rats and mice
• Describe the life-style, habits and habitats of rats and mice
• Plan, implement and monitor an effective control programme for rats and mice
• Select and carry out the most appropriate methods of rat and mouse control in line with current legal guidelines and recognised good practice
• Understand the effect rodent control can have on the environment and ensure risks to non-target animals are minimised
! Please note: All trainees must be over 18 years of age, in good health and with
reasonable literacy and numeracy skills. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions

What should you bring to the course?
Steel toe-capped work boots, loose non-snag work overalls, unlined Nitrile gloves, protective suit, protective footwear, face shield, and 2 passport photos
All baiting is simulated during this course although practical demonstrations will be on active sites
