CS40 - Carry out pruning operations
A 3 day course followed by a separate NPTC assessment.
Pre requisites – trainees must already hold the following :- NPTC units CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39

• Tree climbing equipment
• Pre-use checks
• Practical demonstrations & safe use
• A Safe working area, hazard analysis
• Working with the grounds person
• Work positioning, chainsaw best practice
• Cutting techniques
• Target pruning, crown thinning
• Equipment storage & transport
• Legislative issues
• Pre-Assessment guidance

! Please note: All trainees must be over 17 years of age. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions. First Aid training recommended.
