Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross Cutting & Felling (NPTC CS30 & CS31)
Who is the Course for?
Anyone using a chainsaw where the NPTC certificate is required by the company (e.g. Railtrack or the Forestry Commission) or those wishing to fell trees over 200mm but under 380m (15”) at felling height, or to use a chainsaw in a tree.
Must take the NPTC Maintenance and Cross Cutting CS30 qualification before CS31
How long is the course?
CS30
2 days for novice or less experienced users.
1 day for experienced users i.e. 3 years experience recommended.
Separate practical assessment with questions (about 2 hours) through an NPTC centre. Individuals normally arrange their own assessment with their local NPTC centre once they have completed their training.
CS31
3 days for novice or less experienced users.
2 days for experienced users i.e. 3 years experience recommended.
Separate practical assessment with questions (about 3 hours) through an NPTC centre. Individuals normally arrange their own assessment with their local NPTC centre
once they have completed their training.
Training for Units CS30 & CS31 is usually offered over a period of 5 consecutive days for those who require both units.
! Please note: All trainees must be over 17 years of age. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions. First Aid training recommended.
